The Office of University Admissions at Mercer University is here to provide you with specific information for you and your students to aid in the admissions process at Mercer. The Application Process

Applicants to Mercer University may submit an application for admission online using the Mercer Application or The Common Application. A complete application file also includes:
  • Official SAT or ACT test score
  • Official high school transcript
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor who knows the student well

Important Dates and Deadlines

August

  • Mercer begins accepting applications for 2017-2018 first-year admission on August 1

September-October

  • Admissions notifications sent on a rolling basis, with students receiving decision notifications through the spring
  • Saturday Preview and Pre-Law Day are on September 17
  • Health Sciences Day is on September 24, hosted on Mercer's graduate and professional campus in Atlanta
  • Beginning October 1, students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov
  • Saturday Preview is on October 15

November

  • Priority application deadline is November 1 to be considered for our most prestigious University scholarships
  • Mercer Homecoming is November 4-6
  • Engineering Scholarship Challenge (by invitation only) is on November 12
  • Saturday Preview is on November 19

December

  • Presidential Scholarship Competition is December 2-3 (Students who complete an application by October 15 and meet specific academic criteria are invited to compete for our most prestigious scholarships, up to full tuition and beyond)
  • Stamps Scholars interviews are held on December 3
  • Applications due for our School of Medicine's Special Consideration Program on December 1

January

  • On-campus interviews for the School of Medicine's Special Consideration Program
  • Media Changemaker Scholars Competition is on January 21
  • Saturday Preview and Business Entrepreneurship Scholarship Challenge are on January 28

February

  • Regular decision application deadline is February 1 to be considered for University scholarships and financial aid
  • Heritage Scholars Competition is on February 25 (Applicants who meet specific academic criteria are invited to compete for University scholarships, up to full tuition)

March

  • Financial aid packages are mailed to students who have submitted a FAFSA to Mercer
  • Saturday Preview is on March 18

April

  • Families schedule financial aid conversation with admissions counselor
  • Submit enrollment deposit early for priority housing and registration
  • Accepted students and families attend Make It Mercer! on April 8
  • Deposited students complete Online Academic Profile and housing contract

May

  • Enrollment deposit for fall semester is due May 1
  • Deposited students complete Online Academic Profile and housing contract

June

  • Incoming students attend Summer Orientation

July

  • Office of the Bursar posts fall semester bills to student accounts

August

  • Opening Day for first-year students is on August 19

Students may register for campus tours and special admissions events online with their Mercer account username and password. (This account is also used to request information or complete an application for admission. If an account does not exist, the student has the opportunity to quickly create a new account.)
